What the app uses while you ride

Location

The app reads GPS from your watch to show your speed, measure the distance you have covered, and point you back to a starting point you have saved. This runs only while the app is open.

Heart rate and calories

Read from your watch's own sensors while a ride is being recorded, and shown on screen. WAKE does not store these separately from the activity your watch already records.

Motion

The accelerometer is sampled while a ride is recording, to detect when the hull leaves the water and count jumps. Raw motion data is processed as it arrives and is never saved.

Weather

Wind and air temperature come from the weather information your Garmin watch already holds, supplied by Garmin through your paired phone. WAKE only reads it.

Your saved home point

If you save a home point, its coordinates are stored on the watch itself so they survive a restart. You can clear it from the app menu at any time.

Your settings

Rider name, craft, preferred units and range alert are stored through Garmin's standard app settings. They live in your Garmin account, not with us.

The ride you save

When you finish a ride, WAKE saves it as a standard FIT activity on your watch. From that point it is an ordinary Garmin activity: it syncs to your own Garmin Connect account under Garmin's terms and privacy policy, exactly like a run or a bike ride. We have no access to it.

Spotify (optional, off by default)

WAKE can show which tracks you were listening to during a ride. This only happens if you deliberately link a Spotify account from the app menu.

• Linking uses Spotify's standard authorisation flow. WAKE receives an access token, which is stored on your watch and nowhere else.
• The app requests one thing: the tracks you played during the time window of your ride. It reads track and artist names and displays them on the summary screen.
• Nothing is sent anywhere else. WAKE does not have a server to send it to.
• You can unlink at any time from the app menu, which deletes the stored token from the watch.

Spotify's own handling of your listening history is governed by Spotify's privacy policy, not this one.

What we never do

• Collect or receive your data - the app has no back end
• Sell or share data with anyone
• Run analytics, crash reporting or advertising
• Track you across apps, sites or devices
• Ask for an account, an email address or a password

Deleting your data

Because nothing reaches us, there is nothing on our side to delete. To remove what is on the watch, uninstall WAKE - this clears the saved home point and any Spotify token. Recorded activities live in your Garmin account and are deleted from there, through Garmin.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. WAKE does not hold any personal data, so in practice these rights are exercised with Garmin for your activity data, and with Spotify for your listening history. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will answer within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).

Children

WAKE is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's store listing.
